A Bad Case of Zoo LIghts

I didn't make these photos extra large like I normally do because I uploaded SO many, but this was our trip to the hogle zoo last night. The last picture is the four of us that went. From left to right: Andrew, Lindsay, Ashley, Me. What a good looking bunch.

I don't really have much to say besides it was really fun. Oh. And the Portland Zoo light are a zillion times better. And they have elephant ears there. All the Hogle zoo had was $2.00 chocolate, some flashing rave toys and frozen stuffed monkeys. And I guess the gorillas... oh wait. That exhibit was closed.

It was night time and almost every single animal was sleeping. Except the bats. I really wish I had been able to get a picture of this one bat. He was the darkest colored of them all and was hanging right by the glass. Only his face and part of his shoulders were showing. His eyes. They literally were staring into our souls. I would wager that that bat was Count Dracula himself.

The turtles were hilarious. One turtle was trying to drink out of his bowl. He got half way onto the bowl then was stuck in perfect equilibrium. His arms were flailing and his was stuck for a good minute or so. We just stood and laughed.

Can you imagine being an animal in the zoo? All of these ugly, pale, hairless faces sticking their noses to the glass and staring at you with their wide eyes. I would be a little freaked out. But man, those animals are so cool. One day, I will have a zoo in my back yard. Complete with elephants, giraffes, polar bears (so sad hogle zoo doesn't have an arctic display yet), penguins, rhinos, hippos, every kind of exotic insect and small animal you can think of, tigers, lions, zebras, llamas, rams, camels, and everything else! Animals are cool!
