VACANT

Sorry this blog has been vacant for a few days. Like I said in the post below, my camera died and batteries are SO darn expensive. However, I do have a few pictures from my phone and some I uploaded to facebook before the batteries died. So here they are!

Yes, those are my feetsies. I have a friend. His name is Ruedigar Matthes. Coolest name ever? I think so. He doesn't like to wear shoes and is very hipster. I love it. So one day I was wearing some very uncomfortable shoes and I thought, If I were Rudi.. Well, if I were Rudi I wouldn't be wearing shoes in the first place, but since I am... If I were Rudi I would take my shoes off and walk around bare foot. Let me jut tell you. You thought crunching leave with your shoes on was fun? Try it without an one. Me and my sister call these our "bear feet." Ha. Ha. Get it?? Bare feet... Bear feet? ya....
I was really surprised that this picture turned out the way it did. Seeing as my blackbery takes basically the grainiest, most horrific pictures ever. As bad as my iPod really... ANYWAY. Sushi... Veggie sushi. Need I say more? Basically heaven on earth.
Because here at the university.. We're not sure if the sink labelled blue means cold or hot. I did take this one with my camera. I finally read the manual for it and realized I can take really high quality close ups. So that's my very first "high quality" pic! What do you think?

Well, those are all of my pictures. School is going swimmingly. My classes are great (except my nutrition class.. My professor is kind a dits:/), I've started to really make some good friends, and my house is as adorable as ever. Our home teachers came over last night. They are Andrew Black and Jeff Xu. Andrew is an architect major who went on his mission to Rio de Janeiro. Jeff was baptized literally two weeks ago and is here from China. They shared with us a fantastic message about keeping the gospel a priority.

Andrew shared a story with us about how last year, he had a lower GPA than he would have liked, he was grouchy, and he was spending every waking moment doing architecture. Then, right before Spring semester and after watching conference, he decided that he wouldn't do any architecture on Sunday. He wouldn't even think about it. He would either get everything done on Saturday or wake up early Monday and finish. He said that his GPA went up and he just felt happier.

D&C 88:63 - Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you; seek me diligently and ye shall find me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Now normally, we focus on the last two phrases, "ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." But he told us to look at the first phrase, "Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you." As Andrew drew closer to the Savior by concentrating on the gospel on Sundays and making it a true day of rest from his school work, the Savior drew closer to him and helped him sort of his school work and make in a happier, better person.
What a fantastic message! I can't wait to see what they have in store for us next:)
